Default Any ideas?

Started driving this afternoon and began hearing a faint higher pitched noise during acceleration.. Sounded outside of the cab, on the passenger side. The noise only stops when I slow down to pretty much a complete stop. I decided to drop it into neutral during transit and still heard it, finally turned the truck off (while in transit) and the noise I heard after I slowed to almost a complete stop freaked me out. I posted a link to my upload.. Any help is appreciated. Forgive me if its a simple solution. Didn't know how to describe the noise.

Do you have 4wd? It sounds like the front end trying to lock in, then finally engaging when you slow down. At least that's what it sounds like on my phone speaker.

X2 Sounds like a faulty IWE or IWE solenoid.

Tanks for the responses, I went home and flipped my 4x4 on , and the noise seemed to have disolved for now.. however i think since the part is only 20-30 bucks, i'm going to be safe and order a new IWE. Thanks for the input guys, seriously.

Follow the steps in this thread. If your problem is in the 4wd systen, you'll find it.

There's all kinds of things that go wrong with this crap 4wd system. There are check valves, vacuum lines, and the solenoid by the battery that go wrong, along with the IWEs themselves.
Is your solenoid behind the battery the updated one with the rain shield on it?
Also, when it makes the noise, does it go away when you switch into 4wd?
