Another spark plug problem
2006 F150 XLT 5.4 3V with 180k. I have a spark plug problem. I read all the posts on the site about changing the plugs but I have 2 (7&8) that will not come out. I followed the Ford TSB as close as I could. I sprayed PB blaster and let sit for 4 days and only had 2 come out unbroken. I used the Lisle broken spark plug tool to get 4 broken plugs out very easily. The problem is cylinder 7 broke but I could not get the electrode sleeve out, the threads pulled out now there is not enough material left to rethread the puller in and in cylinder 8 the plug is loose but there seems to be a ton of carbon built up and I can not get the whole plug out. Any suggestions?? I am pondering pulling the cap and if I still can not get them out just put a long block in. I greatly appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.
Why go with a long block? In the worst case scenario, just remove the head(s) and have the plug pieces removed and the threads corrected. A whole lot cheaper than a long block....unless the engine has high mileage and is in need of replacement.
I have 180k but motor runs great. I am calling around today to see if the dealership could look at getting the other 2 plugs out. Not sure how to post pictures of the plugs but look at the post at the top of the forum to see how the plugs break. thanks for the help.

I'm fighting the same thing right now 8 hrs to do all of them and last one is stripped and can't get it to come out. Looks like an 8 hr job to pull head. Ill let you know what I come up with . I can tell you that took a long needle nose pliers and snapped it off leaving the bottom half in there and used the tools to push it down then extract it. Wasn't easy but I did it.
