Door rattle... SOLVED!!!
So ever since I got my F-150 back in Nov. of 2010, I have had this GAY rattle in my passenger side door and could never figure out what it was... until now! This rattle sounded like a "rod" hitting inside my door panel, so I took off the panel and looked back there to see what was up. Couldn't find one thing the made any noise. So then I scanned around the door and looked at all the bolts and screws (behind the door panel). Sure enough, there was one hole that had nothing in it. . . the bolt that holds the bottom of the window motor in place
(which was hitting the frame on the inside of the door). So I got a small bolt, washer, and nut, then inch by inch tightened the nut to the bolt by hand (then with a gripper/wrench). Put everything back together, prayed, shut the door, and no stupid rattle! +1 for the boys back home

Sweet deal... I have a rattle in my driver's side door, sounds like the noise you described. Someone on this forum said they had the same rattle, and it was a missing bolt from whoever replaced the window motor didn't replace that bolt.
What size screw did you use?
...
Need to know so I can steal one from work before i leave for the weekend.
Looks like a 10? Or is it metric?

I have a similar rattle in the driver door. It is much more noticeable with the window down. I wonder if I have the same issue.
Makes sense since when the window is up it would keep enough tension on the system to prevent the movement but there is slack when the window is down so that it can move and rattle.

...But I have the idiots that replaced the window motor before I bought it to thank. Because their the ones that probably forgot to put the bolt back in after the replaced the motor. They also left my speaker unplugged and left the wire that goes to your door handle off! But what can you do
