Hey guys total noob here looking to buy a 2006 crew cab ranch addition 4x4 with 54k miles on the clock. Anything thing I need to be aware of? I know 50k is nothing just curious if there is anything maintenance wise or problem wise I need to be weary of.

on NADA it books at over $23k. seems like its a low number for them to start at unless they got it on a smoking deal themselves.

My buddy is a VP at one of my local dealerships and it was purchased at an auction.

They're all purchased at auction.

Oh, yeah, to answer your question... hehe

Is it the 5.4? I just hit the 100k mark, and got the spark plugs changed. It can work out fine, or it can be a huge pain in the ***. search the forum for "spark plug" and see. You have 60k til you need to do it though, enough time to save up money in case something goes wrong. Don't take this the wrong way, all cars have problems, but that's the one most people have with that engine.

Yes it is the 5.4L. I have done plenty of research here on the spark plug issues and am really amazed at the wealth of information here. I think first thing I will do is HID's, Gotts intake and exhaust. Problem is I dont know which way to go on exhaust to be honest...

I'm still struggling with what to do with my exhaust. Right now I'm thinking of true duals with one of the mufflers with a built-in x-pipe. I keep hearing that they're amazing, and that they're ****.

Who the hell knows... I just want performance, don't care about sound.

if youre looking to add for performance, spend your money elsewhere. not a ton to be gained there unless you do a full system. that would include headers, highflow cats, and some flow threw mufflers.

you can get more performance out of a tuner than anything.

Got a tuner, looking at full exhaust now =P

I hear that long tubes are 100x better than shorts, then I hear that there's really no difference. I guess the lightnings use the same cats as our trucks, so who needs high-flows? I dono what to do. Too much to think about. I'll probably just wind up waiting 'til my muffler falls off.
