Default All windows stopped working????

I could use some help please. I started my truck after running into the store and went to roll down the drivers window and it would not work. I then tried the other windows from the drivers door controls and nothing. I also tried the doors individually using their own switches and nothing. The windows were working earlier in the day no problem. I did notice that when I push any of the window switches, the mirror defrost light goes on and off as I push and release the window buttons? It seems as if everything stopped at once. Could this be a fuse or hopefully something cheap and easy to fix? Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

On a side note I have had some problems with my power sliding rear window intermittently working and my rear drivers door wasn't working prior to this current problem.

I don't think it would be a fuse. But it might be a wiring problem. Something shorting out somewhere if you have defrost lights going on and off. I bet there's some chaffed wires somewhere. But, it's not common for all switches to go out at once. All the passenger wires go through the drive wire so it might be that just the driver switch has failed. Although, I don't know how that would explain the defrost light coming on.

Thank you for the response. Yeah, the defrost light coming on is strange. What would be the best way to determine if it's the main driver switch? Would it be pretty obvious to me if i got in there or would I need a special tool or something to determine if it's the switch? Electrical is definitely not my strength.

I think the first place I would look is the wiring harness to the drivers door from the body. All P/W and heated mirror wires go threw that harness and those wires do a lot of flexing. May have broken/shorted wires. May also want to see if you can find a common ground between those two systems. A bad gound can cause all sorts of goofy stuff

Thank you! Yeah, today I was driving and when I had the mirror defrost on, the defrost on the drivers mirror wouldn't work but the passenger one did. Also the power door locks also wouldn't work. Crazy stuff! So how and where do I check the wiring harness? I'm not great with electrical stuff. Thanks for your help!

Open the drivers door and look between the door and the body between the hinges. There is a black rubber tube that covers all the wires going to the door. Disengage it from the body and the door and slid it part way into the door. Have a look at the wires in the harness to see if any are broken. As for the ground, I'm not sure where it is. First place I would look is behind the trim panel that covers the hood release handle. Make sure any grounds there are clean and snug. However, I think its more likely the wiring. Good luck

Thanks again! I'll give it a try.

I haven't had time to try anything yet, but I did notice that when I push any of the window buttons up or down, the lights on all of the switches goes on and off. Not sure if that helps with diagnosing the problem. Could this be a computer problem? Ever since I left the ignition in the accessory position to charge my phone while i went into the store, I used the door keypad to lock and unlock that time. I noticed it after doing that. Not sure if that would matter but I'm trying to provide any info that might help anyone know whats going on. I have left the truck running and locked the doors with they keypad but never with it off in the accessory position. Would taking the negative battery cable off for 15-20 minutes possibly help?

When my windows acted up it ended up being all the dvr side door switches and its all one unit . If it doesnt work correctly all the windows wont work right. I got a new one from the parts store ..i guess its a common prob ..

I can't vouch for the defrost light, but I just replaced all my window switches yesterday. Some of them wouldn't light up anymore, and one didn't work very well, so I just done them all. Definitely a big improvement!
