thats agood price as long as it comes with the bypass's needed and do you know how to install it.. the wiring is very intimidating and ebay purchases will not be covered under warraqnty and most local installers wont install a unit if it is a carry in.

travis has good prices on some things others are a little higher he does cut some better numbers when associated with the online forums.

my local sho[p wants the same as price for a lesser unit installed than the 5901 the 5501

Dont get a code alarm. Ive seen a few problems with those on there. I currently have the viper 7900, but am getting it replaced this weekend with the viper 5901. I was going to get the 5902, but the only difference is color screen. My current viper remote is color screen and the antenna is messed up. A new remote is 200 dollars plus ~25 to program it. I can get an entire new Viper 5901 alarm installed for $350 at my local car audio authroized dealer. Its a bit cheaper since they only have to resolder stuff and then plug everything back in. But considering that alarm lists for $599, $350 installed from an authroized viper dealer is a hell of a steal. Plus I like the new features and the smaller remote.
