Default Air Intake Temperature

I have a check engine light and the code reads P0113 - Intake Air Temp -40 degrees (yes you read that correctly ... minus 40 degrees) WTF and how the hell is that possible !!!!!!! What do I do to fix it? I already replaced the MAF.

Default value for a bad/unplugged sensor or broken wire.

The sensor I have learned is built into the MAF. I did have an "add-on" that tapped into 2 of the 6 wires that go into the MAF. It is/was supposed to add a little extra MPG and a little power. I have since removed it, I infact replaced the harness and the MAF. I also last week had to replace the whole fuseblock because of an open in it. Possible its related? It couldn't be the PCM could it?

If it would correct my problem . Any idea how much a new/used PCM is? I just cannot imagine that it would be that?

Since you have had wiring problems already, I would look at the wiring. You might have a backed out pin or something silly.

What "add-on" device did you have installed that tapped into two of the six MAF wires?

It was something I picked up on e-bay for like $35 or so. I figured for that little, I would check it out with no big expectations. It was fine for several weeks. But when my fuse block went, I think it may have coincidentally zapped my PCM (which by the way I am waiting on a new one .... $900). I had removed the installed part and replaced the wiring pigtail along with a new MAF. The shop checked it out all day and is insisting that it is the PCM.
