Default air conditioner

2004 f150 4.6 super crew. The air conditioner compressor runs all the time no matter what setting its on. I can even turn it to off position and the compressor still clicks on and off like I had it on. Any thoughts?

No the system was recharged 5 months ago at a dealer ship. It just started this. Even clicks on and off when the switch is in the off position.

Just because it was serviced 5 months ago don’t mean it’s not low from a leak.. why was the system re-charged 5 months ago ?

I had it serviced nothing was wrong with it just to keep it in shape. Now it just started this crazy thing. It works fine but I know the compressor isn't suppose to run when the button in the cab is turned to off.

My findings today on it> I got a can of r134 with the gauge to mess with, so with the switch in the cab set to max and air on the gauge reads about 37 psi... with the switch off the compressor will turn on at 15 psi and turns off when it reaches back to 35psi then the gauge starts to drop back down to 15 then the compressor kicks back on till it reaches 35 then back off. It will never kick on/off it just stays on when its set to regular airconditioner. I hope this is easy to understand cause the way I explained it. Any help from a pro?

I fixed the brake light on in the instrument cluster today and when I started my truck the air worked perfect when I turned it on and off. So does anyone have a diagram of the wiring in the cluster so I can trace down the bad solder joint and fix this air conditioner for good? thanks to anyone who can help!!

Just some info for anyone with this prob. Its the small plug on the cluster that controls the a/c switch. It is the purple wire that feeds the can system. the pin works loose and needs flux and solder to fix.

Sorry I'm late with the wiring diagram. Sounds like you already got it fixed.
