Default Air Bags On Lowered Truck For Hauling/Ride

Hey guys my second post in here, really apreciate the help in my last post with tune up info, you guys got me running great! Anyway here's the deal.

06 F 150 Lariat Crew Cab. 55k mi.

I got this truck pretty cheap, possibly because it was lowered. The good news is that it was lowered from the deal and overall rides quite nicely, pretty sure the rear was lowered by removing a leaf (how many do they have stock?).

The trouble is I do haul a motorcycle trailer and the stuff I need to ride in the bed, when I do that it bottoms out more often than I would prefer. So I was thinking a set of air bags would be the ticket, trouble is there's lots of options out there and I don't know what will work best with a lowered truck. At time's I'd want to run them flat or nearly flat without a load.

I'm open to the idea of an on board compressor and tank because I could also rig that up to use on the bikes for checking pressure. Or if you get a flat on the truck just plug that baby and fill her back up!

Any thoughts on a setup?

Default Not really into lowered trucks

I live in fla in the woods . This 05 with tow package works for its parts . I can't imagine reducing my ground clearance . I pull a 7500 pound load /tractor . I pull down lots of large trees it never bottoms out .
In times of hurricanes I have had to run thru 2.5 feet of water . Once that salt water gets to certain parts the truck is junk . I pressure wash underneath quickly . Last time it got to my fogs .

I wouldn't jack it up either ,yes it looks cool but I don't want to have transmission problems and pay big money for tires . $250 each for michelins enough .
Air shocks bad about blowing out , maybe helper springs on shocks ???
Of course I'm an old guy not trying to impress that big topped blonde thing .

Only assistance I can give you is how many leaves a stock truck has.

04-05 have a 4 leaf pack.

06-08 have a 3 leaf pack.

I would contact Ride tech and see if they can help you out.

I'll be damned, it's an 06 with 3 leafs. I cannot figure out how they lowered this thing. No blocks, shackles look stock to me.

I've been doing a bit more research guys and have found a kit that is specific to lowered trucks. Still not sure if there's any reason to use that kit vs. the kit that is for the stock 2wd suspension but maybe.

I'll be doing a bit more research and calling around. I'll let you guys know how this turns out.

Ended up ordering a kit that is for lowered trucks. Not sure if anyone cares but I'll post up the results when I'm done. Going to do the bags first and then eventually add a compressor so I can do on the fly adjustments.
