Even while aimed low, these lights may still bother other drivers. However, at that price, you might as well give it a shot. If you find that other drivers are constantly flashing their high beams at you while these lights are on, it may be a good idea to find another light.

In the past I've been bad about buying cheap lights, only to be disappointed. Then spending money on nicer ones soon after. Just save up a little extra money and get something you know you'll be happy with.

I'm still unsure what problem you are trying to solve exactly. Sorry, I'm a little slow. Why are we discussing daytime lighting?
Not trying to be confrontational, just trying to understand the issue

Edit... Went back and read entire post. Is it safe to say you are trying to add the fog lights that came as an option on our trucks? Or at least a similar functionality?

Default additional lights

You can buy a bumper with pre cut fog light holes, then put those led pods into them and wire those and put a switch in your truck so whenever you want them in you but the switch?

This is what I'm thinking about doing too since I want fog lights as well.

Wiring in these trucks is a pleasure. Lots of room and even an empty firewall gromet on mine.

Whats with these guys here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00EA0...QL&ref=plSrch#

Would that be ok? It says off-road in the description so I dont know it they are allowed if I mount them low (where fog lights are)?
The only thing I'd be concerned about is that they are labeled "off road" use. But if the laws are not tight in your area, this may not be an issue.

Buying a new bumper is not an option for me.

I will probably buy the LED light I've posted above.

Do you guys have any idea how and where to connect them?

I want to connect them so that they will switch ON when I open and close the car. And a separate switch inside to switch them ON or OFF would be great.

Right now, my experience with the F150 is 0 because I just bought it...

Thanks

Having them turn on when the door is opened may be a tough task; the door switch is in the inside of the door, attached to the latch (no longer a push/release button in the door jamb like long ago). This switch in turn activates the interior dome lights, and the rear bed cargo lights (in the upper "third brake light" housing on the roof). The lights then turn off after a timer expires, or when you start the truck with the key. So if you "triggered" the LED lights off of this, they too would turn off.

If you were "crafty", you could install a simple spring switch in the door jamb (like they used to have to illuminate the interior lights) and use that as the trigger, but it would turn the lights on either with the door closed, or door opened, so that just may not be what you'd want.

Instead, I'd wire a simple relay that triggers off of a lead that is "hot" (12 volts when key is on) that operates a relay to provide the 12 volts to the LED fog lights.

I put a set of those lights you posted on my wife's explorer. Put them in the factory fog light holes. I wired them to come on when the headlights are turned on. With being so low they haven't been a problem with other drivers, but as you know they will be higher on a truck. They're a pretty good light for the price
