A Supercharger will boost you up real good but it will run you back a good $5000 and then you have to buy a boost gauge/pillar and a tuner with custom dyno tunes so figure a good $6000

You could also just buy a tuner any where from $500 - $1000 with custom tunes

Build the motor is also an option but that'll also cost you a pretty penny

A programmer to account for the intake should be the first thing. Right now the engine is probably running lean as most 04-06 5.4L ran lean from the factory. Running lean can cause burn valves and a host of other problems over time. The SCT x3 or Gryphon should be in your future.

get gears. it doesnt add hp but they will multiply the power you have for better acceleration. its usually the first mod if you had a car. i know in the truck world gears are seen just for correcting for bigger tires but in the car world, gears are changed while running the stock size tires.

This isn't a diesel, there's no "stacking" a chip and a tune. Unless you're going forced induction the throttle body isn't a restriction on the system.
Efans will probably be the next best upgrade to gain back some power. As said before, gears aren't a power adder but they'll help make a lot more of what is there.

With gas motors your talking $5-10K for noticeable power and performance. Gas motors are already brutally underpowered and literally can not gain a whole lot even with thousands of dollars in upgrades. Yeah, a supercharger, tuner, pistons/rings, cams, etc... can be done and you will have more power. But if you're looking for the biggest bang for the buck its a tuner. However, even with a tuner you're looking at a maximum increase of 20-30hp and 40-50fp of torque.

Diesels on the other hand are an entirely different animal. With a tuner alone and some simple know how (eg. removing the turbo silencer) you can easily see gains of 100-140hp and 100-200fp of torque. thats with a TUNER ALONE, imagine the same 5-10K you were going to invest in your gasser, invested in a diesel. Then you're talking real power and real performance. You're also talking a new tranny, u joints, and an unknown other number of snapped/broken parts as a result.

Bottom line is, a gas motor has a very limited amount of gain to be made without major work. You can only squeeze so much out.

Stock tires? 4.11 or 4.30 will be good for stock size.
