Adding Heated Mirrors
Getting some towing mirrors with the power/heat/signal/puddle. My truck does not have the rear defrost or heated mirrors factory.
I've done a search and read about adding the defrost button and changing the fuse box and such, but that doesn't really give me the functionality I'm looking for. Your typical defrost feature works on a timer and only stays on for 15-20mins and you have to think to keep pressing the button.
My vehicle before this was a bmw 325 which had heated mirrors. With the bmw when you turned the key and started the car the heated mirrors would come on automatically. They'd stay on the entire time the car was running.
Has anybody ever ran the heated mirrors on their f150 with a relay conntected to a switched 12v source so they would always be on? Sure it's not the factory way to do it, but is it possible?
FYI - It appears the f350 have the always on heated mirror feature.
