Default ABS Light?!?!?! Expensive

My battery died, so I jumped it. Once I got the truck started the ABS light came on. I took the truck into Midas, they ran the code and diagnosed it down to the ABS Module. Proceeded to tell me that the dealership is the only place who can sell and program the ABS Module (due to safety reasons) and the cost could be $900-$1,500....

Anyone have any experience with this or suggestions?

Take it to the dealer or live with it........How does Midas know how much it cost, beside if they're saying 900-1500 it sounds like they're quessing?!

Thanks for pointing out my options, sir...the reason for my post was to see if anyone had experience or a problem like this in the past and to see if what Midas said was an educated guess or just a shot in the dark.
I figured Midas would be a good starting point, instead of going straight to the dealer, since no one wants to pay dealer prices if they don't have too.

I have been told this is a common problem the with these trucks and I was hoping someone would have a little more info on the topic and could help a brotha out, after all that's what the forum is for.....right?

I didn't mean to come across has you're stupid for listening to Midas just that Midas is just a brake/muffle shop, they don't specialize in Ford/GM/TOY etc.etc. and I was really saying "if it was my truck" this is where I'd be taking it(Ford Dealer). But you are very much in the right to ask here! Oh and BTW you did ask for suggestions and that's what I gave you....
