Default ABS light on after mudding

Took my truck through some mud for the first time. Went through one really deep hole in 2wd, and when I went to switch it to 4wd it made two really loud pop noises. Everything ended up fine and it pulled right out easy but now my ABS light has been stuck on ever since. I'm figuring its probably just some mud on a sensor but just want to make sure, any thoughts?

Its probably from trying to go through the mud in 2wd. When you do that and the back wheels are spinning but the front ones aren't, the abs system thinks theres a problem and it causes the abs light to come on. I would disconnect the battery and hook it back up and take it for a drive and see if the light comes back on.

There are ABS sensors on each wheel, and they have some pretty close tolerances. You'll need to get up in there with a water hose and spray nozzle to clean any mud trapped between the sensor surfaces. Then, if the light doesn't clear, start looking for broken wires at the sensors.

Just took it to the car wash and put the pressure washer all over each of the wheels and assemblies. Still have the light on so I'm gonna do some deeper cleaning today and see if that helps. And I'll try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery too

This happened to me a few weeks ago in the snow. i got a few codes.

wheel speed sensor mismatch was one of them as well as a B1342 (ABS module failure.)

i checked mitchell and did what they said to do. if B1342 came back that i need to replace the module.

i just took the module out. not wanting to pay $500+ for a new one.

Yikes, I'm hoping its no $500 fix I need!

I'm just wondering, the hole I went through when it came on was mostly a big puddle. The dirt was sandy so my truck mostly got wet and not that muddy. Could the water have done some damage?

I've taken my truck through some pretty deep stuff and I have never had this problem, then again I was always in 4wd. I would just say there is either a wire problem or a dirty sensor. I wouldn't think that the water would have caused any damage.
