8 for 8!!!!!
I just got up the nerve to try and change my spark plugs on my 07 lariat tonight. Wasn't bad at all. I didn't break a single one. I bought the truck with 114k on it and I wasn't sure it if had been done or not, and my idle was starting to get a little rough, so I thought I might as well change them. So at 125k tonight I got them all out in one piece. I followed the impact on hot engine method and it worked like a charm. One of them was seized pretty tight, broken porcelain in the pic. I thought for sure I would break it, but I kept the hammer down and eventually the impact freed it up and it came out. Put new motorcrafts in with a little antiseeze and torqued them down. Was good to go. I did order this awesome spark plug socket off of amazon that had a swivel built into it along with a magnet that held onto the plug really well. Was worth the 20 bucks for sure. I'll see if I can find a link for it........ Anyone just thought I would post the good news!
Good job.
The reason they came out so easily is, those are PZH14F's ( SP515's). Which were not factory installs in 2007. Hence - they were changed once already at some previous point.
BTW - you should always change the boots & springs - with proper dielectric application - as well.

I did. Replaced them with denso boots and springs from rock auto. I used the grease as well. I wondered if they might have been replaced already, but from the looks they needed it again. Especially the broken one. Not sure how that happened? I do know they replaced the coil for that cylinder, since it wasn't a stock one.
The cracked one? May have been previously compromised ( dropped, factory blem, ham-fisted install, etc ) May have been one reason fer yer roughness as well.

All my original 507's came out unharmed at 82 k after seafoam treatment and tecron through 4 tanks. I'm impressed how clean they were coming out, unfortunately I'm the only one in the universe to buy 4 pack of 515's that were all defective because I chased misfires for a week and 250 later my mechanic told me only thing left to change are those 4 plugs again haha. Perfect now. Congrats on the clean swap!

That's why I'll never buy plugs online - I have bad luck, lol. I always inspect at the counter - I seem to always get the ones the warehouse gorillas tossed against the wall - does not matter if they are MC's or Champs. Even found some MC's where the ceramic rotated freely within the metal plug shell. Fek me ded.
