Hello I have a problem with my 2008 ford f150 5.4l 3v it idles fine when cold and runs great with a lot of power, when it gets to 1/4 temperature it still idles great but its a loss of power I’ve removed the cats, changed the coils and plugs and installed new vcts any help would be appreciated. Could be lots of things. I'd check it for DTCs first. That may point in the right direction for testing.

What happened first was it wouldn’t go over 2000 rpm because cats was plug off to where it blowed manifold gasket on passenger side took them out and now rpm goes up like normal then plugs and coils were changed then vct’s.

Well now if you still have those codes, the logical thing to do would be figure out why cylinder 5 is not firing since that's the code you have. If it's because a disconnected or faulty fuel injector that's a possibility. Could be a problem with a cam follower as well that could explain misfires and running lean

He said p0505, didn’t think that meant misfire on 5?

P0505 points to a problem with the IAC. If you haven't already tried, disconnect it to see if that has any effect.

My bad. I had p0305 in my head for a cyl 5.misfire.
But since the 5.4 doesn't have an IAC so I'm not sure what to think of that p0505 code either.
I guess that would indicate a problem with the throttle body.
