Default 5.4 won't fire

2006 F150 5.4l. Two days in a row this has happened. Truck is stone dead in the morning, it takes a boost fine and turns over, but will not fire. When I cycle the key I hear a light knock coming from rear of truck, cant tell if fuel pump runs or not. After fartin around with checking fuses and reseting fuel shut off, the truck mysteriously started, ran fine, started and restarted a few times all was good. Till this morning, stone dead and it wont start again. The first time this happened it was sitting for a week.

no it shouldnt be, its a new battery. my concerns are the drain to absolutly nothing and why does it crank and crank for ever with no firing, then it fires after like sitting on booster for short time.....

it can always be your battery. There may be something small causing your battery to die, or you just got a crap battery...

ill check it but even a bad battery gives you something, this is so dead the key pads dont light up, once it starts and i can start and restart many many times with no grunting at all. will a bad battery couse no fuel to system? almost seems like the fuel is draining back to tank or something. somethings drawing power as it sits. plus the battery never gave any for warning of dieing, not cold enough for it to have froze up yet.....

If your lights don't light up then it doesn't have enough juice for the fuel pump. If its a new battery it should be under warranty so go get a new one.

Sounds like you have a draw killing the battery. I have seen a few issues with the radio power not turning off when opening the door staying on all night, radio should stay on with the key out until you open the door.
Also do you have a factory 6 cd stereo? I had a real trouble truck come in dead batts every morning everything checked out. I stayed in the vehicle for 45 minutes after it was shut off and lock and noticed the cd player constantly shuffling through cd's until the battery died just a thought to check
