I see your concerned about this, but don't you trust the K&N R&D and tech services as well as 4 ASE certified techs you already talked to?

By now you would have had a code if it were running lean.

My truck never threw a code. But. Every time I tried to hit passing gear I would get a lean pop.

I went back and read this post again....you never mentioned until now that you are experiencing a "lean pop" when going into passing gear (lean pop are your words).

How do you know this is a "lean pop", meaning a lean condition?

If my truck starts running lean will it throw a code or no? I have a model stock intake tube and the gotta mod along with magnaflow SI/SO .

Should I wait for it to pop a code or just go get the PCM flashed? My mechanic is cool and probably wouldn't even charge me to reflash but don't want to do it if I don't need it

Lean pop is what the Ford Service called it when I took it in. It sounded like the pop of a carbureted motor. Said it was caused by CAI and my exhaust. I took it to a local engine shop and he programmed my computer. Changed the air/fuel mixture, the shift points, and put it on the dyno. 366hp.

Running lean will cause detnation, that's probably what the mechanic meant when he said "lean pop". I have had countless problems with my truck running lean with my supercharger set up and no! it won't always throw a code. I have a misfire on #5 and my truck is running lean, I have had mine into the dealer a few times with the problem now and they can't even figure it out.

Yes! Thank you. That's what I was trying to explain.

Until it's moved with an aftermarket intake, causing the readings to be off and if it can't adjust correctly, it becomes lean.
