5.4 junk
Hey guys I'm new to this site but I have a feeling I'm going to be on here more often than not. Just had a 5.4 in a F150 rebuilt I put the motor back in it today and added oil. Problem is, I'm not seeing the oil register on the dipstick. Where the hell is it going? No its not on the ground. Thanks guys
^exactly, thread name should be changed, OP will probably find out oil dipstick tube is not seated and then we will not hear from him again. Either that or he just added a few quarts and hasn't put enough in yet. I said it in another thread and will say it again, the 5.4 3v is a very good engine if taken care of and maintenance is done when it is supposed to be done.
OP, if this was considered harsh or unfair, that is not really the intent. If asking for assistance, then label the thread appropriate so that when/if an answer is found that helps, then later someone that actually needs the same help will be able to do a search and find the answer. The term "junk" probably yields about 500 or more search results.
Good luck, hope that something here has pointed you in the right direction, if not, then elaborate some more on what is happening, what you have done to check it and so forth.

and a damn powerful sucker... seriously, I don't understand people who spend all this money on a vehicle whose engine alone is upwards of $3,000 and then don't bother to take care of it or at least learn how it works... or even read the driver's manual
