Im probably in the wrong section but I've been looking and I cannot find any info on this...

I am interested in getting a 04-08 F150 I took a little offroading trip the other day with a friend and his 07 and he was talking about how it has a 4X4 system that is on land rovers?... anyway whatever it is it preformed quite well though the mud and hills that we drove though and over...

So my question is this, is the 4x4 system on the 04s the same as the later models and does anyone have the real specs on the system?
