I can;t seem to engage the 4x4 when I turn the dial to 4x4 on my 2006 5.4 truck.

Any thoughts??

 

what are the symptoms? does it make a noise? 4x4 light come on? have you checked the fuses? need more to go on.....

4x4 actuator , I'll see if I can dig up my last invoice . Had similar problem .

Sounds like the 4x4 actuator. It's the electric motor on your transfer case that engages/disengages 4x4 when you turn the switch on your dash. Mine went out on my '06 and a new Motorcraft replacement with labor was about $300 at the dealer.
