My 2005 F-150 STX 4WD 4.6L has about 75K on it, always change oil at 3k or so and use Motorcraft 5-20 blend. Had to put some oil in it the other day, about 3/4 of a quart, then drove it 500 miles in one day and it was still at a good level. Do these aluminum block engines use oil normally? The only other time I had to add oil was when I was driving up and down the mountain. I have no drips/spots so it has to be using and not leaking.
