Do 2008 F-150 4.6 engines have 3 valves per cylinder? Thank You.

No, all 11th gen 4.6s are 2 valve.

The 3V didnt come along till 2009. You got the same 2V 4.6 that was put in '09-'10 base model f150s

Thanks, I have done a lot of reading on the 3v engines, this is my brothers truck and it is having problems and I may have to pull a head off it. Being a 2v I would think it would be easier to work on, should that have to happen. I am also having trouble getting a shop/service manual for that covers the 4.6, not wanting a Haynes or Chiltons manual. Plenty of 5.4 manuals. I have rebuilt several engines but they were much older and not fords except for a 1940. 75 yr old here.

The 2V has less too it than the 3V. The 3V adds 1 intake valve to each cylinder and all the VVT components, which the 2V doesnt have
