Hey guys ive been having issues with my 4.2l (manual if it matters) but my truck spits and sputters amd sometimes dies on start up but only if i drive it long distances like from work to home or makeing multiple stops turning the truck on and off alot any ideas or suggestions?

 

When was the last time the fuel filter was changed? Have you cleaned the maf or throttle body lately? Last tune-up?

 

Mileage? You may have an injector that's sticking open, splattering raw fuel.


Have you checked for any stored diagnostic codes? If you don't have a code reader, take it to a parts store; many of them will check for codes free. Then Google these codes for suggested repair solutions.
