Haha So you basically did a brake stand for the cop? Sounds like you have some kind of throttle issue to me, not a transmission problem
haha no it was just idleing it should have been been trying to pull...my rpms were going lower and it started bucking ....like if your driving a manual vehical and you start slowing at like 500rpm it starts bucking thats what it was doing...

wife started truck 8pm 32degrees cold start to move in drive, she backed up 25feet put in drive idled up driveway with foot resting on brake so she wouldnt smash into her jeep (nervous type driver) applied brake firmer to stop and started to put vehicle into park when she says truck started reving faster tires were squealing and she had to apply brakes super hard and then threw it in neutral she came into house and was visibly shaken said somethings wrong with your truck. Any similar experiences I took it to dealer next day no reply from dealer yet. 2007 f150 4.2 automatic 2wd 22k miles
my opinion as what she was dealing with was ..every vehical i have drove with this drive by wire stuff ..it takes a few seconds for these engines to ...say...calm down..... like if you are spinning your tires and just let off the gas...it dont completly get settled down...(i dunno if anyone knows what im talking about ..a little hard to explain)

Default 4.2 sudden accleration

dealer stated 12/18/09 they could find no codes, throttle body checked ok test drive 6.0miles normal etc etc etc. One reader on the forum from texas stated he lets his f150 idle down before taking off I know my wife was pissed when I asked her to move the truck off the street (i was too preoccupied to move it!) so.............maybe that fast idle caused the problem but this truck is to weak to spin the tires and no ice or water present at time. 5am on the way to the job i paid special attention and with foot off the gas for 10 city blocks i was going 29mph! This is my first ford truck my other truck is a dodge 3500 cummings 05 and knock on wood it works awesome just fringer diesel fuel costs to much!

Thanks for the input appreciate i will keep monitoring MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! STRETCH

After 10 city blocks of 29 MPH at idle speed, it's not a warm up issue for sure. Take the truck back to this dealer, or another if you are unhappy with how they are treating you. Tell them you want to leave it overnight so that their service advisor(s) and/or mechanic can start it when it's cold and experience the lengthy fast idle this truck is causing.

I'd rule out the transmission, as they apply power to the axle based on engine RPM; a transmission cannot force an engine to idle high....sticking or not (whatever a sticking transmission is).

This is indeed a dangerous situation, and I don't blame you or your wife for not wanting to drive it under these circumstances. Since the first dealer was not sympathetic to this problem, try another dealer if one is close enough to you. If not, take it back to the original dealer you first went to and suggest they keep the truck overnight so they can experience the condition you are going through when it is cold.

Does it go away after a (lenghty) warmup?
