Are you rally racing that thing? I have 37's and drive nothing but curvy highways and gravel roads and haven't had a tie-rod issue yet (knocking on wood). You sure your alignment is good?

Well, if you're getting tire squealing and vibration then you're probably right about the tie-rods... although it's possible that your suspension took a big hit that dropped a wheel weight and knocked it out of alignment at the same time.

Hopefully it's not bad alignment jobs that are wearing the tie rods early. I know a lot of shops don't really have the proper alignment rack to do tires your size so they end up winging it a bit.

you know, thats actually what ive heard about some of the places here. ive taken my truck to 2 different shops to get my alignment done here. one told me that the bigger tires were tougher to align, but my tires would wear properly and whatnot. i want to get the tie rods done, then get my shocks ordered so i can get it all aligned at once, but that may be a bit. i just figured my tie rods would last a little longer than 30,000 miles. maybe discount tire can align my vehicle properly....

Unless you're really working the crap out of it then I think you should get at least 50K out of the rods.. just my gut.

I only do alignments at my local 4WPs now. They cost more, but the last time I had a regular shop do it I ended up with uneven tire wear on the inside of the tires (and I rotate every 3-5K). The 4WPs said it was likely just part of life with 37s and IFS, but since they did it last I've had much more even wear on the new treads.
