Default 35"s on 3.73 gears? 2004 FX4

How do you guys feel about 35" tires on 3.73 gears. I have a 2004 F150 FX4 and I just put 35s on it and want to know everyone's opinion on this and if it puts to much stress on the transmission.

I've got 35's with stock rims an 3.73 gears I don't feel it strains the tranny to bad I'm sure it's a little worse than stock but nothing major. Either way I'm planning on upgrading to 4.56s!

Do you guys think this programmer is worth it?

http://www.pmtdiesel.com/diablo_spor...pogrammer.html

There's one on craigslist for $175.00 but I could try to negotiate depending on if its worth it.

I have that one and am happy with it. Corrected shift points and tire size on mine. I had 3.55 and nearly 35s, it was fine until I started towing my camper that weighs 6000 pounds loaded. Upgraded to 4.56 and now good to go. The 4.56 are a little low if you do lots of highway driving, but definitely brought back the pep. Pretty quick now for truck. I think unless you tow regularly the 3.73s should be good.

Thanks for the info, so do you think I should buy this programmer? I will be doing very minimal to no towing but if this programmer is worth it, I might be able to get it for $150 or so.

Get the 4.56 gears and a tune. Just make it a goal, start saving, and get it done. Took me 6 months or so of saving AFTER I got my 325/65/18's and man what a difference it makes. I have been a vocal proponent of 35s and 3.55s not hurting your tranny if you drive your truck with respect (e.g. Not drag racing it, at least every day lol). But, it is nice to know you have a truck that is tricked into thinking its operating at stock. I forget I have 35s these days... Do it, you deserve it, I'm sure...
