pretty sure 06fordf150 is right you can't watch when vehicle is in drive but if you do a forum search might be able to find something on how to bypass safety feature

there is a certain wire that you can ground out that will allow you to do this, I am unsure of what color it is for you because i dont have those bells and whistles either, but in my last vehicle i installed a aftermarket one and i just grounded the wire out and it worked.

You can ground a wire in order to do this. It was the YELLOW wire with the black stripe on it. I simply extended the wire and grounded it to a screw in the firewall. My DVD now plays in drive.
ALSO, the phone function will NOT work unless you have Micrsosft SYNC installed. I do not know any F150's with this option. The dealer told me when I bought mine that it was not an option on the F150, so I have the phone button that does nothing when I press it.

This unfortunate phone dilemma is to be fixed by Ford for the late 09-10 models so that bluetooth will be available. You should be able to put in a factory radio from a late 09 or 10 into the 08 and it will work. The dealer can NOT program it to work because it is a radio feature and not a vehicle program mod. I already checked into this option.
Due to an exhaustion of effort, I am currently looking into aftermarket radios with Bluetooth and Nav in order to accomplish the Bluetooth feature that I so desired.

Good luck!

More info on the phone button:
You (We) can purchase the module for this feature to be used. The dealer told me it is called "mobil ease" and costs $465. He said that we can only purchase this module through FORD; however I have found the module on eBay for $388.88 and the harness for another $50, and is required for the phone button to work. It will not even work with Sync because the necessary module is needed. He said that after I get the module, I would have to install it, or I can have Ford do it. Install is $225 if I want them to do it. He did tell me that it just plugs into the back of the unit, and to same $$$, installing it myself would only take about 1 hour. The mic would go by the rear view mirrow and will have to be routed.
What a crock that Ford does not just have this installed already! My wife's Honda has it already installed. The only downside to having the bluetooth/phone option is that my wife and kids can listen in on the conversation that I am having, rather than me just using my Plantronics and talking normal.

Again, Good Luck on the situation.

Easiest way would be to engange the emergency break until the light just barely comes on...Its the quick and fast way, but i would still try and gound out the wire as mentioned above.
