Default 2008 F150 - Integrated Reverse Camera

My '08 F150 SuperCrew Lariat has the integrated reverse camera system. Here are two photos to show it off.

The first one is of the camera built into the tailgate handle:

The second is a few of the small LCD screen that appears in the rear view mirror when you put the truck in reverse:

Yup. I love it. Makes backing up in tight parking lots very easy. Plus when I get ready to hook up to my camper, it should make that process go much faster!

Good morning Chris,

OK, you got my attention! I know that when I was looking at the F-150 limited, it had just about every bell whistle and gadget that you could possibly stuff into that truck.

Including that backup camera that you have.

So, I did an aftermarket job on my own truck... TA DAaaaaa...

Now, it may not have the exceptional clarity that yours does, but at least it lets me know that something is behind the truck and that I will bump into it before it becomes something for the insurance company to get involved with.

Nice job Mitch! I like it. I don't like all that snow your photos! Too cold for me.

Hi Chris,

sigh... yea, and there is more snow today...

Although it isn't the same icy stuff that they are getting in the central states right now. At least we have snow falling and not ice pellets and freezing rain. They are being pounded! Tornadoes in the summer and now freezing rain and it isn't even winter yet!

These are both cool setups (factory & aftermarket). Although I am not a Toyota fan, the new 4Runner has a nice setup too. It has a LCD GPS screen integrated into the dash that the backup camera uses. When you put the truck into reverse, the screen automatically switches from GPS view to backup camera view. Pretty cool (even though it's a Toyota).

Its offered in the Tundra also...but unlike Toyota, Ford got smart and doesnt require one to option the 2800$ Navi system to get the backup camera.
