2008 F150 cluster
Hey guys I have a 2008 f150 and I'm looking to update the cluster / speedometer lights to led. When I took it apart to see what it looks like being the cluster I noticed it has grey and black twistee tabs and you take out the light bulbs. I was wondering what are the difference between the tabs . Do I replace all of them? Or just the black ones? Or just the gray ones? Just wondering if ya'll can help. Thanks

Don't use the same brightness leds in both. Been there. The odometer and high beam indicator were so bright that it was painful.
All of the warning indicators are soldered in leds. Also, don't mess with the needles if you don't have to.

Do not use green colored leds as suggested. The needles are red and will not show up if you do so. The high beam indicator is blue. Again, don't get green leds.
Here's my cluster with 6000k white leds in all the gray and black sockets.

Damn that's looks nice man. And all t5 size right?. Where did you get your led lights. Also can you use the switch to dim it lower and raise it brighter does it still work with the leds? Sorry for all the questions

Yes, they are T5 bulbs. You'll notice when you remove the sockets, the bulbs in the black sockets will be larger. The base is the same, but the bulb is bigger, because they're a brighter bulb. Keep that in mind when doing the swap as I stated earlier. Get brighter leds for the black sockets.
Try to get leds that spread the light in all directions so you don't end up with hot spots or dim spots.
The dimmer switch still functions normally.

That is correct, if you want white you would want to replace the cluster with one that has a white film. Don't try to just swap the film. The needles might stop working or you might break something. You will be good if you do just the green leds on the cluster itself without messing with the grey ones. The blue will still be blue for the high beam. The film is blue not the light.
The backlight leds illuminate the backlit area AND the needles.
Only more time, don't go with green leds.
White is fine to use. Refer to my photo.
