Sorry its been a while since i have been on the forum. Have a quick update for you, after reading your last post a few months back I confirmed that the oil sludge i found in my coolant reservoir was from multiple different coolants being mixed. i added motorcraft gold coolant to what i think was green generic brand coolant, thinking the green stuff was the kind you can mix with any coolant....well i was wrong so lesson learned lol. im sure there were a few other types that were mixed in but i cant remember. i did a quick drain and refilled with motorcraft gold and the oily sludge stuff went away and did not return. since then i traded in the truck. i was still having the slight coolant loss and the lean condition due to EGR flow problems. i discovered there was a vacuum leak at the brake booster that was robbing vacuum from the EGR needed to control the valve. the slight coolant loss i think was the heater core, there was a slight loss of coolant but a very obnoxious coolant smell when using heat and a/c. i inspected all around the dash where the heatercore would be and found closer to the firewall by the passanger side trans tunnel a very small amounts of rust from what looks like was a small leak of some kind. i would say the heatercore had a leak somewhere towards the top of it and it was evaporating before making a noticable amount of liquid/ sticky residue on the floor. i mentioned this to the ford dealership i traded my truck into and they say that was most likely correct. i did not want to mess with removing the intake manifold, i needed a more reliable truck with a little more power for pulling the camper in summer. I wish i could have some answers for you on the intake manifold. hope this could help someone.
