Default 2007 Bed Removal - Center Section Only

I have a new to me 2007 XLT Supercab. I just removed the plastic bedliner to check on the condition of the bed. As I suspected, the bedliner has removed a lot of the paint on the ridges of the bed. Most concerning to me is that there is rust bubbling up the paint along the seams between the center section of the bed and the outer section of the bed. I can see there are bolts holding down the bed and I can remove the whole bed by removing these. My question is: Can I remove the center section only or is the center section attached to the outer sections with seam sealer? I would like to remove the center section to clean up the seams and remove all of the rust before applying rust converter, primer and new paint. If I can't take up the center section, I will only be treating the surface rust and not taking care of what is in the seam.
Thanks for your help
