I was talking to someone at work about his problems with his 04 and he came across p/n's that match 01, 02 & 03 model trucks. Its kind of like they used of the remaining parts from the old body style just to get rid of them.

There is a "heritage 2004" and then the 2004 to 2008 models. The heritage 2004 is a 2003 and earlier model. I can't tell you when the "new" 2004 (to 2008) models actually begain from a month production standpoint. I'd try the VIN number of your truck and go from there.

When I search for ABS module, it comes up as 04-06. Seems like they changed the module again in 07. Either way I dont care anymore lol. I got some bonus money for selling 4 cars in 3 days today, so that money is going torwards a new one. Hope to GOD this fixes it.

Fixed! The abs module is locked to the vehicle vin. I bought mine from a junk yard and had to take it to the dealer as they are the only ones who can unlock the vin. What a pain!

Ebay motors. The salvage yards have these plus other good OEM used parts for sale for cheap. I bought a used starter and alternator from a 20K totaled truck a few months ago as spares. Can't beat OEM for quality and fit.

I bought the module for $107 and had $70 in the dealer to reprogram it. The junkyard would not sell the pump and module seperate. I just changed the module on mine so I would not have to mess with bleading the abs pump.

Just heard from the service manager from the Ford dealership at home, ABS is fixed...I was not able to go to the junkyard like mentioned above so I had to pay the dealer price..they took 30% off so it wasn't too bad of a deal. I figured now that it is there I am going to have them replace the plugs and a fluid chnage in everything (oil, coolant, transfer case and axles) since they are going to take 30% off that also. The ABS fix was new a module/pump assy and cost was $650 after discount and taxes. The plugs are $380 if none break, but thats without the discount. Every plug that breaks is an hour a piece at the discounted shop labor rate of $60 instead of standard rate of $94.

Hopefully I got lucky and none break...
