If you're moving, say about 45 MPH, and you open the throttle up, how far does your engine rev up to? 4K, more?
Does the truck jerk? Do you feel the transmission dropping to 2nd or 3rd, or trying to drop down in gears? If it were slipping your truck would not just slowly reach speed, it would jerk, at least a little I believe.

I guess it could be your tranny clutches slipping, but it could also be maybe the turbine shaft speed sensor on the front of the tranny. Or it could be clogged cat converter(s). How does your truck accelerate from a dead stop? Real slow?

Do you hear pinging upon acceleration?
Current mileage would be very helpful.

it down shifts revs up to 2000 or 2500 and when it hits 3000 most of the time it takes off it does feel like it loses power like a jerk but not violent and not all the time the truck has 83000 miles and from a dead stop the truck does take off slow and no ping i do here like a fog horn or vibration something when hitting gas on normal driving

if you have an advance auto parts nearby take it there and have them pull codes. they should do it for free. if they get any they will tell you what they mean

Talking

Could...maybe...be 1 or 2 bad cat converter(s) from hearing the slow takeoff symptom, but get a diagnosis somehow before replacing those expensive things.

Man, the other symptoms sounds like my truck.
My torque converter is all worn out and needs replacing. I get a bad vibration at certain speeds and the tranny acts a little strange like it wants to slip while in 3rd and O/D at times. You may have what my problem is, which really is:

1. Tranny clutches are getting worn, I think I will try and have it overhauled (doing it myself hopefully, or paying someone...not as fun for me) before my clutches wear out completely and pieces of clutch wear off and get stuck in the tranny valve body, causing complete tranny failure;

2. Torque converter needs to be replaced (again, hopefully I will do this myself when overhauling the tranny, once I learn how);

3. Rear driveshaft needs to be replaced due to excessive run-out. This will cause a lot of bad vibrations too. Not too hard to do yourself, you just have to buy the stupid thing, which isn't cheap.
