Default 2" Leveling Pictures

I have searched and searched this forum. Read many posts. Most say 2.5" level is safe and wont wear on the ball joints too bad. However my family mechanic and friend said not to do it. He said he did it for a friend and had to replace ball joints in 6 months. I feel this is his honest opinion because why would he turn down my money So I think I might want to go with a 2" leveling kit to be a little on the safer side. Im worried 2" isn't enough to level it. Anybody have pictures of their truck with stock tires and a 2" level kit?

Not many people do the 2 inch. Most go for the 2 1/2 or larger. Not a lot of complaints on here about ball joints going bad. Wonder if the ball joints were already going bad before the lift and that just pushed it over. No complaints on my 2 1/2 inch lift. Good luck!

Ball joints are actually pretty common for our trucks. My dads 04 and a buddies 06 went through 2 sets each in 60K. My truck has had a 2.5" leveling kit for at least 160K (previous owner installed the first 2.5" leveling kit; not sure how long it was on for when I got the truck at 60K), and I have never done ball joints although it is time for it now.

By the way, my dads truck was stock and eating ball joints, and my buddies was half and half at stock or 2.5" leveling. Maybe its a hit and miss kind of thing.

Thank you everyone for the input. I kind of feel the same as all of you. I know my mechanic does not like Fords but I do trust him to give me an honest opinion. I will consider my options until I have the spare $$$

This is a 2" Autospring leveling kit on stock 275's. The tires measure 32.09 inflated. I think I need at least a 33.5 to 34 inch tire to make it look right.
