Default 11PSI Finally!!

Well I finally did it!! Purchased a Metco 7.55 pulley this past summer and got around to installing it. It turned into a small ordeal. Got the pulley on but had issues with the belt sliding all the way back. Found out what was keeping the belt from sliding on. There is a bolt boss down there under the water pump pulley. You have to grind off part of the support for the boss. It's useless anyway! So once I took care of that I ran into belt length issues. Been using Gates belt K061247 since the beginning and this is the longest of the 6ribs. So I unbolted some idler pulleys and headed to town to locate some smaller diatmeter ones. Found a 70mm smooth and 70mm grooved pulley at carquest. Of the 2 smaller pulleys I purchased only one was needed. I eliminated the ribbed idler between water pump and power steering. This bought me some room but not enough. The tensioner pulley was slightly larger than the 70mm pulley I purchased. So I installed the 70mm on the tensioner and used the factory tensioner pulley to replace the idler pulley just above the tensioner itself. (the one that keeps the belt clear of things on it's way to the alt). Anyway this gave me the slack needed to install the belt. Fired her up and hit the road. Noticed right away a/f issues were really lean under 25-75% throttle but would come around to normal levels. Gave it a quick punch and made 15psi instantly! Holy *****!! Let off right away. Went back and changed blower pulleys. Installed the stock Whipple 3.375. Made a fuel mix increase of 2% between 2,000-4,000rpm. Took her back out and wow. Made 11psi and my god I have never felt anything like it. A punch to the throttle at 30mph resulted in one heck of a burn out. I did some data logging to watch the MAF. Unfortunately all I can see is maf v. I believe this is maf volt count. Anyway this count increased all the way to 975 when the rev limiter kicked in at the top of third gear. I hope this means the maf is suitable for continued use and isn't going to peg. I didn't have any lean issues. The power is something to be felt. Can't wait to head to Troyer's for some dyno time and any needed tweaks the first week of November. Back to the drag strip after that!

Nice!

If you are seeing 9volts at the MAF you are pegged out. I use the Mafia MAF Extender on mine. Im seeing around 5 volts wot.

Sounds amazing man! Cant wait to see what the dyno says after the tune. If you are already running in the 12’s, it will be interesting to hear what you run once everything is tuned. I feel bad for your rear tires!

I cant even imagine what a sub 5 second run to 60 feels like in an F150. I was happy with my 6.9…. I’ve driven a supercharged SL55 Mercedes and I think it did 0-60 in about the same time as your truck. Someday ill have forced induction in something that I own but those pesky living expenses keep getting in the way.

im interested in boosting my 5.4, i have a 2010 mustang gt (4.6) and it has a whipple supercharger on it and i know whats involved in boosting that,
but as far as mods go to your motor what have you had to do? besides basic bolt ons.

The motor itself is stock. I have never been in it for anything. The 5.4 can handle 500rwhp but that is the absoulute max. And if it isn't tuned just right that won't last long. I'm hoping for a good 475rwhp on my next run. I'll need cams and an electric water pump to squeee out 500rwhp. I don't plan to do that until I go built. Until then here are my mods...

Whipple Twin Screw Supercharger 11psi, Dynatech Headers ceramic coated, dual exhaust 2.5" Mandrel featuring Magnaflow Hi-Flow Cats and Muffler, X-pipe, twin heat exchangers (water to air intercooled), Fore Fuel Hat with twin 255lph fuel pumps, twin FPDM's, 2010 f150 Electric fans, SCT Programmer, Troyer tuned, GMS coil upgrades, 95MM MAF, 39lb FMS injectors, 170 degree stat, HTO plugs, Built Tranny (BC AUTO), Circle D 3500 stall converter, Driveshaft Specialist driveshaft, Yukon 4.11 gears, Caltrec traction bars, EBC Brakes and Bearings, QA1 Dual Adjustable Shocks, lowering shackles, Barker Cold Air Intake (built by me), an80mm BBK Throttle Body, Optima Yellow top battery, Roush Wheels, AutoMeter Boost, EGT, and A/F meter, M&H drag slicks, EBC brakes, Metco 7.55 crank pulley. I have probably forgotten something.
