here it is...

TSB 08-14-03

2007-2008 F-150/MARK LT BUILT BETWEEN 12/4/2006 TO 5/20/2008 ONLY - ENGINE RPM FLARE DURING 3-4 UPSHIFT UNDER LIGHT THROTTLE ONLY - 5.4L 3V / 4R75E ONLY
SOME 2007-2008 F-150 AND MARK LT VEHICLES BUILT BETWEEN 12/4/2006 TO 5/20/2008, EQUIPPED WITH A 5.4L 3V AND 4R75E, MAY EXHIBIT AN ENGINE RPM FLARE DURING LIGHT ACCELERATION DURING THE 3-4 UPSHIFT. THIS WOULD ONLY OCCUR AT ROAD SPEED RANGES FROM 25-30 MPH (40-48 KM/H). NO DTCS OR OTHER DRIVABILITY OR TRANSMISSION ISSUES WOULD BE PRESENT. REPROGRAM THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) TO THE LATEST CALIBRATION USINGIDS RELEASE 54.5 AND HIGHER. THIS NEW CALIBRATION IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE VCM 2008.3 DVD. CALIBRATION FILES MAY ALSO BE OBTAINED AT MOTORCRAFT PARTS FOR FORD, LINCOLN OR MERCURY VEHICLES.

That is exactly what's happening. I spoke to service department at my local dealership and have an appointment in Monday. Will have tranny flush done, fuel filter and oil and filter done at same time. Hope everything goes well. Tranny flush is just for preventative maintenance for my piece of mind. I just bought the truck and ford has no info of any tranny service being done to this truck so it's probably the best idea. Thanks again!!

had the ol girl to the dealership today. took less than an hour. they tried to charge me $68, but i made some good points or the flash is easy enough that they just did it for free (my dealership rocks) not a single issue to speak of anymore.

Nice!! Nothing better than getting a free fix! Try to get to know the service writers at your fav dealership, a personal relationship will get you some perks vs a regular joe... Just don't annoy them! Ha

My buddy works at my local ford dealership and he hooks me up when he can... Plus he knows a lot about our generation trucks...

I just had mine done and the dealer charged me $35 (CDN). Told me it was at cost to do it.

I argued that the drive train is under warranty for 5 yrs or 100,000km. He agreed but said he had to charge me.

It would seem that if Ford is issuing a TSB on this then they know something is wrong?

Anyone know the legalities of this?

I see some are getting charged $88 and some are getting it for free. Guess I got a deal if they by rights can charge for this?

Thoughts?
