would a bad check valve in the fuel pump throw a P0452 error code?

just want to make sure the Mechanic isn't trying to send me on goose chase and pad his pockets. I'm new to my city and have to get this fixed to pass Smog....smog tests are a PITA

I would work on clearing the misfire and see if the other code goes away with it.
