Default 07 Adding automagic headlights.

Just bought my first ford, a 07 f150 with a 5.4l. It did not come with the automatic headlights so I want to add them. I've read a few posts about 2011+ and 2003 and below but didn't find any information for the 04-08.

I purchased the switch with the automatic setting and on the dash there is already a bump with a red flashing security light. I have manual A/C, column shift, no keypad on door. What else do I need? The switch alone didn't do the job.

Ford does have 2 different listings for the sensor, but they look to have the same part number.

My truck has auto headlights which I run on constantly. I hit a bump once and they went off in a dark tunnel that was scary . I tought they were acting up a couple off weeks ago but they are okay now . Seems the pcm takes over , it is not a simple external circuit . Pcm runs them . But maybe a 12vdc double contact relay operated by key on volts run thru the auto switch position could work I would have to see how switch is wired . I would use heavy diodes to prevent feedback problems .

Okay, I think I made a mistake it is the body control module that runs them . The one behind passenger seat .

Default I have my doubts about reprogramming bcm

You would be lucky to get one repaired let alone add modification . But maybe its there by default waiting to be wired in I would not know . Would take a real good ford tech to answer that one . I'm sure some service manager has been asked to do this and maybe there is a procedure to do it . Kinda like adding remote start which is done by aftermarket kits . Maybe someone here has added auto lights if you are lucky .
