Default 07 5.4 trans issues

Alright, this is my first post here, so be gentle lol. My wife has an 07 f150 5.4 with the 4r75e. Recently its been acting up, gets to about 30 mph and goes to shift but feels like its been put into neutral. Will rev but won't upshift. Slow down and downshifts just fine. Turn off o/d and it shifts and runs perfect.

Any ideas? It's at a trans shop in town to get a quote but wanted to consult y'all for ideas.

Thanks in advance!

Is it slipping between 2nd and 3rd or between 3rd and 4th? I'm assuming it is between 3rd and 4th if you can drive it normally with O/D off. Drop your valve body and check the O/D band apply piston it may be as simple as a broken snap ring.

Default Where did that nuetral come from?

I would like someone to re-address this issue. I parked my '05 F150 2WD after a 50 mile ride. It ran fine. My wife got in it this evening and called me within minutes to bring her another vehicle. When I started home it shifted fine until maybe 3rd gear and immediately went into neutral. I took it out of overdrive and had no trouble getting it home. Fluids good. Any thoughts?

It's the overdrive servo clip. It has broken releasing the band. When this happens, the transmission goes into neutral instead of 4th (overdrive). The pan and valve body will need to be dropped and a replacement clip installed. Make sure you find all the pieces of the old clip as well. Do a search on these forums and you will find lots of information. This is, unfortunately, a common problem.

Here's a link to what has probably happened in your transmission. Easy fix.

But it sure doesn't sound like that hard of a repair. Its better than having your planetary gears come apart and chew your whole trans up.

My 07 has that'can't-decide- what-to-do' syndrome at low speed and light accelerator in overdrive. What's the fix - anybody?
