06' tranny meltdown

Exclamation 06' tranny meltdown

Is anyone having problems with their tranny? Mines got 17,500 miles on it(No Towing) and it melted down. I have always sid it has never shifted right and after 4 trips to the shop they are now having to replace the whole thing. I may get it back in 2 weeks

That sucks, sorry to hear that. Did you have a tuner or did you do any mods to your truck? How was it shifting?

that sucks, but it is better than a motror I guess...

Dosen't matter either way its under Factory warranty.
Welcome to the site though. I have an 05 SC and mine shifts just fine.

every one get a lemon once in a while! hey maybe they screwed up and they accidentally put a dodge tranny in there, there only made to break lol but at least you get a new one now!

but wont putting a tuner on it void out that warranty...besides, those tuners are made to also help change the shift points and what not

I think it really depends on the dealer. My dealer sells Superchip programmers in the parts/aftermarket department. After seeing that I stopped taking my Edge out when I go in for servicing, I do return to stock and unplug the cable so they don't play with it.

Thumbs down Tranny Update

Well the dealer said that the main forward clutch pack totally fried and that there was no definable reason for the meltdown. They are not the speediest though; they have had my truck for 2 1/2 weeks now. They are putting in a new Tranny but it is coming from Oklahoma City.

hi u guys doing i have a 2006 ford f150 fx4 with 15,000 miles on it and have the 5.4 3 valve and under the hood ,have a volant cold air intake, aftermarket mass air flow sensor , throttle bodie, edge power programmer, 3.73 gears, custom flowmaster super 40 series exhaust, 2.5 inch skyjacker leveling kit, 2 -10 inch alpine type r subs 1,200 orion amp, pioneer deck and pioneer speakers in my truck and still doing more to it
