I have an '05 STX w/ stock stereo/single cd player.
CD player has been acting up for months, finally quit ejecting cd's on its own. You have to slide a credit card in and bump the cd to eject.
I'm not interested in aftermarket, a simple swap with a replacement (stock) unit is where I'm headed.
I've found multiple stock units w/single cd, and quite a few with the 6-disk player. Here's my questions;

Would the 6-disk unit be a direct swap for the single player (fit in same dash space/same wiring,etc)?

Any difference in fitment/installation of stereos from model years '04-'10?

Also found one out of an '06 Fusion, but looks identical to mine. Did Ford use the same stereo in other vehicles?
