My transmission was just rebuild about 13K ago by the dealer. My driveway has a very steep incline. If you put the truck in 1st gear it rolls backwards, but if you put it into 2nd gear it holds and doesn't even roll and inch. Is this normal or did they do something wrong. I am asking because the truck seems to shift into 2nd very hard since the rebuild.

i don't know about first gear, but yesterday i wanted to check that my backup bulbs were not burnt, so I put my truck in reverse (engine off, key on) and with a very slight incline, the truck rolled backwards. I was surprised becuase it wasn't much incline at all, i didn't think there was any. I think what you are seeing is normal, if I get a chance to try in forward gear tomorrow I will report.

My truck in in 2nd gear and running when this is going on. I dont know much about transmissions but I would think that 1st gear would be stronger than 2nd gear when on inclines.
