Your dash lights should be out to ? There on the same fuse to let you know your tail lights are not working . ( brake lights and blinker are on a different fuse ) look for the fuse for your instrument cluster and parking lights .. It is most likely blown. If you replace it and it blows agin then you have a short in a wire somewhere

Default taillights

no luck.dash lights work, everything works except taillights. i have checked every fuse in the box and all are good. all the bulbs are good. could not see any loose or damaged wires anywhere.

Are the taillights stock ? Have you added anything that had to be wired in like offroad lights or light bar ? If your dash lights and front parking lights are working I would think the problem would have to be in the wiring at the taillights themselves or bulbs .. Have you tried replacing the bulbs ? Did they both quit working at the same time ?

Pretty much the same thing happened to me. Mine turned out to be the brake light switch that's clipped right to the side of the brake pedal lever arm.

-wait- sorry! Just read your symptoms, it couldn't be the switch. Mine had taillights, but no brake lights.

You may want to check for corrosion if you have 6v at the taillight lead. Often some of this, especially in states that use corrosive road treatments, will lead to resistance in wires that have cracked insulation.

just checked voltage at taillight socket. i got 12v dc at brakes and blinkers. only had 6v at taillights

that could very well be the problem. the roads were icy all last week. thanks
