Busy busy busy
Just bought a 2008 FX4 last week with 46k miles on it. Interior is great and only one door ding and a few minor scratches, but I don't think the previous owner ever had it waxed. Ever. There's so much haze in the paint, it's embarrassing. My first truck (I never bought that F-150 I test-drove back in '92), with the intent of buying a nice camper so we can get away from it all, if only temporarily.
Plans include replacing the bumpers with chrome models (since these are poorly painted anyway), polished mesh grill and bumper insert, and a set of 20" Detroit Steel DTown Steelies with a trim ring and either the shannon cones or retro-look Ford dog dish centers. I'd love to strip the model designation from the bed, but worry that the paint restoration the detailers can do won't be enough to hide the ghost. And if I happen across a few grand, I'll get the sunroof fixed - got a shower in the car wash the other day. (Yes, I knew it didn't work. No, I didn't realize it leaked so badly.)
It doesn't look like it from this angle, but this is the standard 6.5' bed and not an 8'.
The unused basketball hoop makes an appearance in many of my photos.
