yeah my truck is 2x4 but the nitto ridge grapplers did great. When you go past the 5 mile sign with “4x4 only” it gets nerve wracking for sure. The tide was almost to our campsite which has never happened before. Luckily the suburban was 4x4 and I had recovery gear.

yeah pretty much done, just one little airbag code and some odd things going on like headlights not turning off automatically when the timer supposed to. Idk just odds and ends

Nice to see another 4x2 on the beach! Looking good. The secret is tire pressure; I always air down when going on the sand. Two years ago when I took my Ram on the beaches off Corolla in the OBX, I never had to put it in 4x4. I take my 4x2 '84 GMC S15 on the beach, and even my 442. I take the tires down to 5-10 psi. If I can't look in the rear-view and see my tire tread perfectly imprinted in the sand, I'm running too much air. My uncle used to take his 8k pound trailer on the beaches of the South shore of Long island with my truck, but he sold it to me when he got a 250 to pull his 12k lb slide-out. I'll be taking my truck back on the beach this summer when I take it down to the OBX.

Here's my '97 150 on the South shore of LI back in '04. Your post actually reminded me of these old pics... looking back at them, makes me really miss that truck. 4.6 4x4 with a 5-speed and Flowmaster dual exhaust, it was a fun, great sounding truck. Sold it with only 114k miles. One of the vehicles I most regret selling.

Yeah, you should've held on to that truck! I actually enjoy driving on the beach.

These pictures are from when I bought it. Also, what the filter looked like. Previous owner apparently never changed it? (Truck had 22,296 miles at the time, it now has almost 98,000 miles)
