You've been warned
Anybody wanting to remove the blower motor? Well, I just want to personally thank Ford for designing a blower motor removal process that has caused me irreparable emotional damage. This wasn’t a repair—it was a spiritual reckoning. I crawled under that dash full of hope… and crawled back out a different man. A man with trust issues, back pain, and a permanent twitch in his eye. Whoever designed this part placement clearly never had to work on it. I can only assume they were either trolling humanity or lost a bet with Satan. I dropped tools. I lost skin. I questioned God. I watched my own soul leave my body, holding an 8mm and whispering, “We’re not doing this again.” And let me be very, very clear:I don’t dislike this blower motor—I HATE it.The kind of hate that sits in your bones. The kind of hate that makes you consider “Plan B”: Rolling the truck down a hill and letting insurance sort it out. I’m not kidding. If you're reading this, don’t do it.Unless you're prepared to lose sleep, blood, and part of your sanity—walk away.
in the grand scheme of things I would say it was mildly annoying. I wanna say I used a flex-head, ratcheting wrench on that back screw and a 1/4 drive for the rest. Cant remember if I had a swivel in the mix or maybe even a flex extension once they were broke loose.
with the floor mat out and carpet rolled back some I can R&R one in about 20 minutes

No thanks. 😅
I just swapped the blower motor resistor on my ‘03 Saturday evening. Needless to say, I wasn’t 220ish the last time I wedged myself between the seat and the glove box (cabin air filter replacement?). Thank the good lord that it only was two screws to undo to get out and reverse the ordeal to get in for the night.

blower motor issue Hahaha. If you think that was bad, just wait until your blind door motor needs replacing? Trust me you’re going to break that damper motor out, remove the radio and take out the first screw and break tab holding back screw. Then you can remove back screw.
ps: that back screw isn’t going back in. Unless you want to have an another Church Revival like moment.

The blend door right behind the radio is actually not that hard, if you have a tool to fit in there. I found out very recently that the Milwaukee Insider ratchet fits perfectly in the space to replace that back screw, for instance. And then the benefit of electric ratchet is you don't need any lateral movement.
