Good pointer on the remote start, test it before leaving the car lot.

I don't know factory's actual range but factor in walls and it diminishes quickly. I wouldn't even consider a factory starter unless it was the smart phone model, but I live where it's cold and snows. I've had staters for 13 years and you don't want a cheap short range crap one of you plan on using it regularly and depend on it, trust me. If you live somewhere warm it probably won't matter to you.

Sultan,

I already gavejust the leather seat a hefty 3 in my opinion, but never had them before. There are times when this truck would be used on the farm, I may be dirty and sweaty and would most likely use seat covers to protect them from that environment. My wife and I also plan to take a 2 to 4 week vacation driving it out west and seeing our beautiful country. I'm sure the leather would be very pleasant then.
And as bad as I hate being hot, I could not give the cool seat the max
(cannot live without) 5 rating. I hope I like what I get as much as you do, that reminds me, I have gotten so hot before that I jumped in the truck to cool off> cool seats............nice.

Fair enough! Leather tends to get hot, the ac seats is awesome. Leather cleans so much easier than cloth. Is actually plastic coated unless you get King Ranch so you don't have to condition it and dirt wipes right off. Scratches or punctures would be the only concern really. I farm also and use mine for light work, have older trucks for heavier dirtier stuff. Got leather mostly for my dogs, the hair sticks to cloth, impossible to remove, leather you open the door and it blows out, lol! Everyone has different needs and wants but that's my opinion. I'll never have cloth seats again when I can have heated and cooled leather!

I suppose I could do that, as my wife suggested, keep my dakota with 290+k miles on it. I haul roll hay for the horse too, loaded at the feed store with steel forks, eeeek.

Thanks for pointing that out.
In that case, i see a clear winner in the Lariat...especially with your adjusted scoring schema. There is no way you can go wrong with a Lariat (or even a KR for that matter....but I MIGHT be biased in that regard).

And for the record, I wasn't trying to imply that you aren't of means...merely that the $5k seemed like a heavy factor that was of utmost importance to you before your adjustment.

Zix- No offence at all, I got exactly what you meant. You pointed out that if I gave it a maximum rating of 5, was as if I could not afford it, and that would be good advice under those circumstances. But really I just hated spending extra money based on what I was getting for it. So, by your redirecting me to that, and considering that part of that score is in a way reflected in the other scores, I give it a 2 or 3 instead.
Now a KR......your pushing it Zixxer.

Thanks, again.

I ordered the Lariat today,
Screw,
short bed,
4wd,
5.0,
Gem green,
355 Elock,
501A package,
two tone paint,
Adobe int,
40/20/40 seats.

Thats only $2,380 more than the loaded XLT after I would have added after market tan accent and matching wheel flares. I may wish I had the black interior to hide stains and ware marks, but they are very hot and dark.

I expect to be intolerant of the jump seat and start hunting for an XLT console and a little larger wheel flares flares

The way I look at it is for your going to go do it go big buy the biggest nices truck you can then you will not be disappointed! I have a lariat and I LOVE it so much! The only truck I would take over it is a raptor or a lariat limited.
