Good lookin' trucks guys! This is a great thread, the before pics really help you appreciate everything that goes into these "transformations"! Unfortunately my wish list is growing faster than my bank account, but here's what I've done so far...

Before

1 day old - bone stock

After

2 months later - vinyl wrapped bumpers, fx grille, fx hid's & tails, AS 2.5" front level, AS add-a-leaf, 20x9 bmf novakane's, 295/55r20 toyo open country m/t's

Thanks man. Wrapping the bumpers was a lot cheaper than buying ptm bumpers and I think holds up a lot better than trying to paint chrome.

Guy down the street from me painted his grille surround and it is chipped and scratched something awful.

Makes me wish I had gone neg 44 on my XDs... I love that look. The whole thing looks amazing! What size lift is that? Tire size? Gearing? Just curious...

Thanks,

Brock

Default Mockingbird Man

I like your username!

It's all in the prep really.. I've had my grill painted since October and not one chip yet. Sanding correctly, then cleaning before painting... then using an etching primer, then coating with a 2 stage clear is the most important final step most people don't do.

Painting over metal chrome / bumpers is something I wouldn't ever do, although some say they've had success, I just bought the painted bumpers instead of risking it.

Glad to hear that wrap is holding up... looks really good.

Default White n Chrome

I like the subtle changes you've made to your truck. All tasteful mods that step it up in class. Looks great!

Thanks for posting!

Default Chrome vs no chrome

I hear you, and I think your rig looks both classy and badass. I think with white chrome looks really good... and even sometimes my Ruby Red can look great with it too. It's just something I decided not to do this time. My last truck a 1999 SD was red with lots of factory chrome and I loved that truck. This time I was headed the same route and then though maybe I should do something different this time. Got nothing against seeing chrome.. especially when done tastefully.

Thanks for posting!
