Default Info on tunes

Are there any threads or links with info on tuning or chipping my truck. Do I need to keep anything updated? Do I need to put it back to factory if I put my truck in the shop? Plug and play vs custom tunes? Want to get the most without messing anything up

Hi.

Yep - there are thousand of threads.

Advanced Search > Tuners (or Programmers) in Title Search > Restrict to 2009-2014 forum = Many hits

Yer truck cannot use a chip - you need a flash programmer.

ALWAYS return to STOCK before service.

ALWAYS choose a custom tuned device.

good luck

Lots of guys here go with 5* tunes.

Just make sure your all up to date with any dealership updates before you buy. They custom build it for your truck.

Plenty of Threads and Vendor Information on this website.
Always better to get the latest FORD Update Strategy before you get a custom tune.
Putting it back to factory is a good idea but FORD can (it is said) tell if your truck has been tuned (if they really want to). probably not an issue unless you bring in a major repair under warranty.
Plug and Play tunes pale in comparison to a good Custom Tune.

Read as much as you can BEFORE you purchase a tune. Think about any future mods (Exhaust/Air Intake/CAC Upgrade, ETC) before you get a custom tune. With all the mods in place you can get the Custom Tunes that take in account your Mods (without having to pay later for an adjusted tune).
